Another recommendation - my mother in laws friend contacted me with her sisters details… she wanted a cake for her little girl who would be 5. After chatting with her, we decided that anything pink and girl would be perfect so after a little planning this is what I came up with!
A two tier vanilla sponge covered and filled with buttercream, then covered with a thin layer of white fondant as the base. For the bottom layer, I mixed up various shades of pink and cut into strips then layered up around the cake to give a swirl effect. The top tier was covered with a thin layer of pink fondant then I added spots of various shades.
Once the cake was in position, I rolled up balls in alternating colours and positioned then around the base of both cakes.
As a finishing touch, I hand piped the number 5 onto all of the spots then made up some fondant stars to spell out 'Karis'. |
