ruby wedding anniversary cake

For this cake, I baked two square vanilla sponges which were shaped and sandwiched with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream.  I then covered the cake with white fondant and formed the 40 out of burgundy fondant flowers and hearts in various sizes.  I continued this theme around the corners of the cake and on the sides. I was really pleased with the finished piece and my friend was over the moon!
